Have you been noticing recipe videos? They seem to be popping up everywhere, as either a replacement of or supplement to print recipes.
Many of them are beautiful, with soft, natural light. Slow movement of the hands. No narration. Romantic type. Dreamy music.

I find them visually appealing but also a bit empty. Where are people's faces? Where is the grit, the flame, the drama? Where are the stories? Why does everything look like a slightly creepy dream? Does this have a point?

If I'm going to watch a recipe video, I prefer the fast-paced kind.

Or better yet, videos by bloggers with a face and wit, words included.
