My new Hario coffee set (and Blue Bottle beans) - a thoughtful Christmas gift from someone who knows I crave my Blue Bottle latte.
Grind the beans. Wet the grounds. Pause. Then draw circles of hot water, slowly, as if you're daydreaming about what to have for lunch.
Pourover coffee tastes best on a Saturday morning at the Ferry Building Farmers Market in San Francisco. Look for the long line. You will join that line because you think a line that long can only lead to something delicious. Yes, you will wait fifteen to twenty minutes for a four dollar cup of coffee. "I'm not a coffee person," you might think. But it is too late. You have already seen the hipster girl drawing lazy circles down an entire line of ceramic cones.
